now that PGMusic has made their picks, I'd like to resurrect this thread but with a different focus... instead of predicting who PGMusic might pick, I'd like to look at some of the songs and artists that were excellent but didn't make the top 20

If you want to link to a specific song that's great... of if you'd rather point out a person that works too... but first and foremost, try to say what you liked about the song or artist that justifies your opinion.

You don't have to do it all at once... just stake out a message and come back as time allows and edit it to add new people or songs to your list.
