This would be the answer to my dreams, if BIAB would finally grow up and play with the big boys in 64bit land for real. I use SONAR X3 in windows 7 and have always been frustrated to one degree or another that I can't share most VSTs between the two (I have a few 32bit VSTs that are Soanar legacy products). Now the real question is does it work, or is it glitchy and unpredictable. I have no problem plunking down the extra $60 to get 2015 and jbridge, but the last thing I want to purchase is another headache.

I just got Addictive Drums 2 64 with 64 bit install.
Got Jbridge running and the AD2 kit worked great.

As you I use Sonitus VST's also with BIAB goodies.
Have not tried any of the newer VST plugins tho.

Some of Sonar's stuff is not compatible with BIAB.

Shouldn't explode anything, just give it a whirl.

Good luck...and let us know.

Oh, sorry, thanks seeker. Sounds like you are in my wheelhouse, as far as what you are using. It would be nice to use some of sonar's not so generic sounding synths in my songs. I'll most likely be ordering tonight.

Ok, (just didn't follow the brevity in the original statement).

I can get it to work on three different softsynths at once but when I either add a 4th or I try to use the same softsynth twice it crashes. This just might be my system. This is no big deal for me as I do most of my work in my DAW.

YMMV

My goal this weekend is to move just enough each day so that no one pokes me to see if I'm dead or not.

Mario -

It's possible you are running out of memory. I know some of the Kontakt libraries (Session Brass and Session Strings) can quickly load several gigabytes of sounds. And then if you load multiple instances of the softsynth or just multiple softsynths, you are running each one in separate memory space.

I was making an elementary mistake, I was trying to load a VST into a real track thinking the program would sawp them over - cant be done. you have to right click the real track, then select custom MIDI track first, then choose an instrument. The track turns yellow (for MIDI) and then you can load

Makes sense really, I suppose.

Now, where is that hair shirt of mine?

Hi john,

No, I have 16 gigs of ram and I can run a lot more Kontakt instruments along with other VSTi instrument when in Sonar.

Like I said this is no problem for me as I do most of my work in Sonar. Consequently I have not devoted any more time trying to figure this out. As with most of my computer problems this one is most likely a wetware problem, i.e. my CRS brain.
