Hi Sonny.

I've had the same thing happen, but only when I put an effect on the channel insert of the pasted track. It didn't make any difference what effect I put on, the audio would appear to move either up or down by about an octave. Removing the track insert returned the track to normal.

I managed to come up with a work-around by copying the audio to a new track and removing the old one. Sometimes it was necessary to save the track as a wav file and then remove the old track and import the file to a new one.

I know that this doesn't explain what's going on, but I hope it helps.
