Are you using a DAW to record?..

A lot of times I put use Logic Pro.. I highlight the the spot Iwant to solo , plus a measure before and after.. I use auto mute and create new track.. I will play the solo over and over, gradually finding my way to what I want.

Don't forget finger glisses, and and palming.. You can also slow the song down to a more comfortable playing speed.. When working on a song.. I always scour YouTube.. and looks for songs to give me ideas and inspirations..

I then take the different tracks, mute out bad notes.. find ideas that work well, sometime move them.. until I find something suitable.. Sound of of the Organ is extremely important.. that can make all the difference in the world..

I use a Tyros 5 , it has some decent organs.. I also bout a 'ventilator foot box".. It is one of the best Leslie simulators out there short of the real thing.. A lot of it is feel.. Speed, is not always the answer.. Some of the best songs, have a strong motif.. "Smoke on the Water.. House of the rising Sun, Jump by Van Halen.. etc.. Don't be afraid to try a lot of ideas. The beauty of a computer is you can always go back.. A lot of my best solos. I realize are ones a did a few days before, but didn't think much of.. Again. comping a great solo from several takes. can yield great results.
