Hello folks, I have another newbie question. I would like to notate both a melody and a descant line for a song. In other words, I want to notate two melody lines (1 melody, 1 counter melody), each on their own treble clef staff. My BIAB 2015 screen only shows a treble and a bass clef staff. How can I insert a second treble staff for my descant line? I am still learning how to compose so please keep your suggestions simple. I want to use a different real instrument for each staff. Thanks!
Hmmm... I don't think that it's possible, but I could definitely be proven wrong.
You can only have one 'melody' track in BiaB
Somebody else might know more on this, and I'm sure will chip in.

If you want two completely separate lines, then you'll have to do one of three things.
1. Use the melody track for one line and use the soloist track for the second line. You have full editing capabilities of these two tracks without worrying about the track getting regenerated (like the other style tracks do).
or,
2. Use the melody track to create one line, then once you have it the way you want it, render it to the audio track, and use the melody track again for the counter-melody line. Of course, once you do this you won't be able to edit it, so save a copy of the original line somewhere.
or,
3. Take the project to RealBand, which gives you 48 tracks to with as you please.

I got the impression the O/P wanted to create a score like an orchestral score, for two different instrument parts, like this example for 5 parts. Is that correct or am I off the mark?

While Realband does support display of multiple staffs including treble and bass clefs selectively, BiaB allows display of singel staffs including treble and bass clef, yet multiple staffs display seemingly with treble clefs only.
