Hi
I purchasted Forti dxi and now I have a note saying that I have to purchase it I have not a clue what to do any ideas

I always play the right notes but not always in the right order

When you purchased Forte DXi, you should have received a registration code via email. You have to enter that registration code to keep using Forte after the 30-day trial period. Assuming that you purchased it from PGMusic, you should contact them if you did not receive your code.

I purchased Forte recently but each time I enter the code in Band in a box 2015, the Midi/Audio Drivers Setup window will not close to enable me to close and restart the program. Any ideas?

What I have found when you enter the Forte serial number is that you have to press the okay button twice. Don't know if that's your problem, though.

dave jazzband I have had issues where it keeps asking for the code even after I insert it. But only on a Win8.1 machine.

I just have contacted live help about this problem and Laryssa will send it to the technical guys. I am glad to see that I am not the only one with this problem.

Just a guess, are you running BIAB "as administrator"? It might be a file rights issue, particularly for those running Windows 8.1.

I am running win 8,1 and Biab as an administrator, so I do not think that's the solution: Forte forgets the password and behaves as trial software, after a month it asks again for the password.........

Oh, I understand. Sometimes software tries to write to a file to verify a software product is legitimate, and cannot without proper rights, so you get this type of error. Installing BIAB into a /Program Files folder (either one, if 64-bit) will cause this type of stuff to happen.
Be sure to post SOLVED when you figure it out.

From what I understand from when Coyote Forte originally came out, Norm Campbell is responsive to user needs. That's how we got from version 1.0 to version 1.6 in a relatively quick period of time. 1.6 has been out a long time, now, so maybe it's time to revisit it with regards to Windows 8.1 and the upcoming Windows 10, especially in a 64-bit environment (since it is strictly 32-bit). You can find contact information at the Coyote Electronics web site. Just a thought. BTW, I've got Coyote Forte loaded on my Win8.1 machine, also, but I don't use it much there (mainly on my Win7 machine). I'll give it a try and see if I have the same problem (I'm sure it's been over 30-days since I ran it last).

I have BIAB installed on a separate drive by itself. Drive letter is E. Where should ForteDXi be installed? Into BB on the E drive or the default C:\?
Edit: installed into the BB folder on the E drive and looks like it is working.

You should be able to install Forte anywhere; however, it is not a BIAB-specific software. It's a DXi synth that can be used with any MIDI program that uses DXi synths. Since it is DXi, it will write to the registry of your computer, so it is not transportable. In other words, you can't install it on an external drive and then use it on a different computer.
My Forte is just installed in the Program Files (x86) folder along with my other music apps (but not PGMusic apps, which do not work there).
