Haven't got much new news as I didn't make the hour or so drive to Sussex lately. I believe that she is more sure of people's names now and is getting around more. They finally decided to give her a bit of freedom to walk instead of only allowing her 25 min. supervised. I just hope she doesn't fall. She uses her walker to steady herself. They have taken the alarm off her bed. Not sure why they put it on in the first place as they were "supposed" to take her for walks.

(I am encouraged by Helen's rapid progress. She's slowly remembering how/where people fit into her life. That's notable progress. Imagine the pain of her husband, Gerry, in not being recognized.)
I didn't go to Sussex, but Ron took my other sister Marge down to visit yesterday. She asked them where I was but I was to sore and lazy to go for the hour's drive.
Ron was saying that Helen did a lot more singing and that she is starting to instigate conversations without just repeating what has been said to her.
Ron said he asked what her glucose level was when the nurse came in to take a reading before it was the supper time for them in that room. It was 5.1 which is darned near perfect.
That is my latest news, so I will try to keep you up to date on things as I hear or see it.
Helen is one tough Canuck and to learn that she is "singing" brightened my day! I think the worst has passed. I thank you all for your positive thoughts, prayers, and well-wishes.
Canadian Cuzzy Helen had a second stroke yesterday, June 26th, which paralyzed both legs. It's most devastating because she loved teaching clog dancing to children and nature walks around her home.
She had been recuperating rapidly from last month's stroke only to be knocked down again.
The worst thing is that she seems to have given up on fighting back.
I will pass along all messages of encouragement through her sister, Cuzzy Carolyn since Helen is unable to use her computer.
