I don't think the color can be changed, but what came up in a recent post is that you can select the chord in the Chord Sheet and press Control<F2> and edit the value directly from there (see second image). Press Enter when edited / entered value is complete. (Incidentally, I agree that the contrast in the current chord box is not ideal...
