All, this is my very first attempt to play an E-Guitar. I've got a borrowed Epiphone, and I've really enjoyed a Jam Session with BiaB, which I find simply GREAT for backing tracks and music training :-) It's a Blues at 70BPM with a simple chord progression C Am Em. BiaB plays the Drums and the Bass line. I play both E-Guitars and I use a Line6 POD 2.0 as Amp simulator and effects. As sequencer I've used Reaper, and no extra effects where added to the tracks.
