With Biab, I almost always use a keyboard as an external synth - it's there in my Biab/Midi set-up, and provided the keyboard itself is switched on before I open Biab, it requires no specific setting for the music to be voiced through it.
Like many Biab users, I do a lot of exporting to midi for editing and manipulation purposes, and when I open the ex-Biab midi file in the notation software, it always comes up as voiced through Roland VSC, although I use the same keyboard as the normal midi-out for that software too. It's easy enough to reassign it, but suddenly I'm tired of having to do so !

The question is, which software needs to be adjusted ? The first thing to check, logically, is how Biab saves it (i.e. with what synth specified, if any), but I can't find any specific controls to ensure that the synth I'm using with Biab is 'embedded' in the midi file. Perhaps the midi file can't carry that info ? In which case it would be the 'expectations' of the notation software I'd need to tweak.

Any advice much appreciated.

Sincerely

Ian G.
