I have the original Fat Head. It's not a mic I use all the time, but when I'm doing louder vocals, it really does impart an interesting timbre to my voice that I can't get with my LDC. I used to also use a Sennheiser MD421 Mk II, but I had to give it back to my church before I left for me new job cross-country.

It's $175, but it does come with some really nice accessories like a wooden storage box that sits in an aluminum travel case. One thing - with this mic (and probably other ribbon mics) you have to store the case so that the mic is vertical - can't have the ribbon laying horizontal.

When it's on a stand and not in use, they provide a velvet bag to drape over the mic to prevent it from getting any unintentional puffs of air which can damage the element.
