I haven't tried that either, Mario...I don't have much experience with Melodyne yet.

But, another less surgical way is to copy or clone the RD track a few times and use EQ to remove or retain everything below/above certain frequencies. You could - theoretically - mix the RDs that way.

I just finished a couple of tunes and on one of them the RDs were heavy with what I assume were room and overhead mics, or reverb maybe. The cymbals would ring/echo forever, and the snare hits were awfully harsh. I was able to tame the snare with a transient shaper and EQ the cymbals to reduce that ringing.
