I have a song with Bass and Drums (as usual).
The Drums initially came up as Midi in the style and I substituted it with a Real Drum.

I regenerated the tune and it played back fine (both tracks real tracks).
I then dragged and dropped the Bass part in the .Wav box.

Presto a Bass.wav was created. Well not really presto, it took a few minutes.

Then I dragged the drum part into the .Wav box.
Presto a Drum.wav was created. Or was it?
The Bass.wav was 25 Megs. The Drum.wav was 46 bytes!

Did I do anything wrong?
I tried this twice with the same results.
Thanks!

On the same theme (D&D)...

I just tried another style that had bass/drums as Real Tracks to start with.

Did the D&D thing.

Bass came out to around 25 Megs.
Drums came out to around 51 Megs.
Why does BIAB do this? (different file sizes)

Others may chime in, but this might be a good question for support.

It does sound unusual. Were the tracks frozen at any time during the change from MIDI to RealDrums?

Could be the drums are stereo.

This is my thought, too.

Looks like stereo versus mono to me. A mono WAV file (which runs about 5 MB per minute) will be half the size of a stereo file (which runs about 10 MB per minute). So it looks like you've got about a 5 minute song.

The initial problem with the 46 byte file sounds like a glitch of some sort. Did you actually generate the track before dragging to the drop station?

Yes, my thought too.
But why does BIAB do this?

When you select a style (say 4 or 5 parts), does BIAB randomly assign this track to be stereo, that track to be mono, that track stereo etc?

I didn't touch a thing re: stereo/mono, don't even know where to go to do this.

I didn't generate the drum track specifically (don't know how to do this).
I did however regenerate the song before doing the D&D with bass and then drums.

And I did this several times with the same results.

Generally (but not always), in BIAB, single voice instruments are mono (bass, sax, trumpet, flute, etc.), and multi-voice instruments are stereo (piano, drum set, ensemble, etc).

So guitar would also be stereo?

Guitars with FX, yes
The dry DI versions, most likely Mono.

There is method to the madness. They think about it before creating the tracks.. and what they choose has a reason behind it.
It's usually easy enough to change a mono track into a stereo track if desired .. and vice versa ..

I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome
