I have 8.1 and a little Windows icon appeared in my system tray this morning, hovering over the icon the message says "Get Windows 10". I believe I'll wait a while. The cutting edge is often the bleeding edge. MS will find out a few things that don't work in the real world and apply a service pack. Then I'll consider taking the plunge. It's just my way. I have too much important things on my computer to be on the bleeding edge.
