Just when I thought I'd heard all your styles, you come along and post this! It's a great listen. Like Joanne, I'm a fan of the spoken word verses versus the harmonically and electronically layered chorus. Very creative... but then you always are!

I enjoyed it!

All the best,
Noel

Thanks Noel,
Always good to hear from you and glad you enjoyed my latest.
As I said to Joanne I try to only post different sounding songs so people will not know what to expect. I have been through many musical phases but am basically a rocker, apart from the spandex blush
BIAB is a great programme for experimentation and it helps produce that little bit of magic (I like that analogy very much)

I hope all is well down under!

Thanks floyd,
thanks for the compliment about the production, praise indeed coming from The Maestro himself.

I have learnt so much from the lists of RTs others include in their posts. Then judicious use of a distortion vst changes the most unlikely candidate.

My friends use "soul" when describing me but sadly they reference a donkey first cry

Glad you enjoyed, I await your next opus cool

Enjoyed it Alyn. I'm not a big fan of spoken word in songs but you make it interesting with your originality and your production choices are always interesting.

"the moon was eaten by a wandering cloud"

I'd be satisfied to conjure up this one line...but
you surround it with plenty more. A very cool
write that is a clinic on imagery.

Plus one on the Roger Waters feel. You did an
outstanding job mixing all the tracks and
ending up with a great soundstage. That is
not easy.

Inventive, effective and a great listen.

We enjoyed it.

PS I had a TR4 waaaaaay back when.

the moon was eaten by a wandering cloud
as i struggled with the demon sleep
that was always there with me on the steering wheel
like a monster from the deep

Nicely put, it brings back memories when I was on the road weekends. On the way home at some ungodly hour followed by the sleep demon. I had a TR6 PI, a joy to drive, even with the top down in the rain (if you drove fast enough)

I liked the chorus, reminded me of the Wall.

Alyn,

This is really good stuff! The spoken word really paints a picture in this one, and the background vocals are just right for this style. Really like it!

thanks Josie.
I really appreciate your honesty, you said similar to another "song" of mine and I fully understand, wouldn't it be awful if we all sounded the same sick and liked the same styles of music

So thanks even more for listening and commenting

Greetings to a fellow TR6-er. Yeh what a great car at 3500 revs and above. The hood was not the easiest to "put up" so I too drove fast in the rain!! Bit naughty on the corners tho!! as I almost discovered once mad

Glad I rekindled the memories and that you enjoyed the song.

Thanks for the Waters vibe

All the best

Cheers Steve, I tried to portray the "loneliness" of driving when "her in the next seat" was asleep. When you were young and care-free and getting to know each other. The chorus was a lean towards to power of Deep Purple (Speed King) and especially The Brandenburg Concerto

Glad you enjoyed it

Hi Alyn.

Very much an "Alyn" production - always original, always interesting.

Even though all your songs are so different from each other, they all somehow retain that style which you seem to have perfected.

Great track.
