Have they fixed drum endings that don't sound abrupt rather than ending with a cymbal on some styles? If not how can I fix that without a computer degree?

Add a cymbal hit in a MIDI track, perhaps after a drum fill. This is easier to do in a sequencer like Real Band or Power Tracks. A couple of key hits here and there makes a world of difference to enhance the Real Drum tracks.

As was I.

You asked how it could be done.

Hi, what I do sometimes (when needed), I just grab a cymbal hit or roll of my choice (from my sample library) and use it at the end, middle, wherever, using a sequencer (RB, RT or any other available.)
Hope this help

Hi,

What is an example of a style, and what are you hearing in the ending. Find out the exact RealDrums (style and tempo) being used by looking at the status bar at the top of the screen. We can test it out to see if we hear the same thing on the latest version of the RealDrums. In the mean-time, you may wish to download the RealDrums patches.

So it sounds like there are no workarounds that can get the drummer (or anyone else in my realband to do an ending that has a sustained ending note/chord?

I'm having the same trouble when I use a stop, or in particular, a sustained chord (like entering "C...")

I used the exact same variation in two places in the tune, and entered "C... C." hoping for a two-beat sustained chord with a matching, followed by a rest.

One time I got what I assume is a "shot", and the second time (same chord, same variation) I got a cymbal crash of the type I was hoping for.

Any hints on how to test these would be appreciated. I'm thinking of creating a Shot test song that has Shot and Held Chord bars for each variation.

Does anyone know a way to access the RealDrum variations from the chord window without opening a RealBand track and regenerating the drums? That is, I'd like to select a style and be able to hear all the variations.

Bob

I have a workaround for those wanting a held note (C...) for an ending and want to get rid of the annoying drum hit. It's easy once you get the hang of it.

- In Song Settings, uncheck Generate 2 bar ending
- Make your song a few bars longer than the last held chord
- For the held chord, enter the chord excluding the drum (C...d)
- Change the bar setting (F5) at the held chord to mute the drums
- A bar or two after the held chord, enter a chord other than your held chord with a Rest (A.)
- Now using the piano roll editor or other method, enter the Midi drum sounds you want at the Held chord in the Soloist part.

I convert the Soloist part to Multichannel and put the drums I want on Channel 10. This will save your song as .MGX

The held chord stuff is found in the BIAB FAQ's. I added the bar muting, etc because I periodically was getting weird results in the drums at the hold. I have found that this only works on the 1st beat of the measure. I'm still playing around with how to end it on the 3rd.
