Hi Rob. I am also an ex-smoker and everyday I am so thankful that I was able to kick the habit more than 8 years ago. I feel for the people struggling with this addiction. It is terrible. Your song certainly was a bit of a shock to the system but if it helps one person free themselves then it has done an excellent job. Well done! Hi Josie. Rob, I like where you took it with the tongue in cheek sentiment. "My situation aint no joke but I'm just dying for a smoke." That about sums it up. Vocals and mix are very good. Even though it is such a dark subject, it is a very good write. Tom +1!

Another ex-smoker here also and in fact this September it would be 40 years since I quit. I am so glad that I did as I have seen a very good friend and a brother-in-law die from lung cancer due to cigarettes and neither had reached the age of 64!
Anyway I also think that this is probably your best outing yet. I think many of us can relate to the lyrics and may have seen exactly what you are song is about. Everything is perfect on this one.

One of your best - in all aspects.
A good write - solid. Excellent choice of a Band - and very well mixed.
The vocal is excellent. Tucked in the mix perfectly. I'd say you got the reverb just right.

I like the tracks used. Cool crunchy guitar sound.
The "happy music" doesn't fit (IMHO) the depressing lyrical journey. Cut my leg off, lost a lung, gurgling sounds.... lets have another smoke before we die.
Kinda like Country Joe & the Fish...at Woodstock.... Whoppee! We're all gonna die!!!!!
Maybe that was the intent.... if so...well done.
Hello Herb. Defiantly a tongue in cheek song. The irony of the situation always gets me no matter how ill some smokers get they keep smoking. That was thought behind writing. Thanks for your comments. Rob Like the guy I used to know who smoked. He got cancer and they had to put in a breathing tube and he had to use an electronic thing that he pressed against his neck while closing the hole in his throat so he could "speak" using this gizmo because they had to remove his larynx..... Did that stop him from smoking....? Oh no it didn't. He'd light one up and stick it in the hole and smoke anyway...... making jokes that the doctors told him to quit before the cigarettes took his lungs. Sadly I have seen some one do the same thing. Hi Rob,
As Rob (I mean "my" Rob) quit smoking about 6 months ago and still finds it very difficult not to smoke, I'd better not let him listen to this song. So I'll comment on it.
I agree with Herb, that it sounds rather cheerful for someone who's going to die ;), but both band and vocals sound very well.

for many, many years and if I
had´nt been able to quit, it would
surely have taken me ! Can still
recall how I had to go out
searchin´for half burned stoogies
along the streets when the worst fit
hit me ! :)) Nonetheless, a good
song perfectly executed !:))

A good song and production Rob very topical and funny and yet very true.
Isn't it strange how you hear of someone who smoked all their life and yet lived to a good old age.
Still I would rather not take the chance.
I enjoyed the listen, you can write about anything it seems, wonder whats next on the list?
