Several weeks ago I requested help because I couldn't stay logged in to these forums while using IE 11. Each time I changed pages I was kicked out. Now I can, with no change on my part other than routine updates.

Also, last night I tried to use Skype for the first time in a while. I didn't know it was associated with a browser—I thought it was a self-contained app—but it told me flatly that it wouldn't work with IE. Something about it not being advanced enough.

I have and like Firefox, partly for the many things it does that IE doesn't, so no worries about choice of browser. I'm just curious as to why Microsoft is so far behind this particular curve. Thinking about all of their other quirks, though, I guess I shouldn't be surprised.
