Within BIAB if you select a Hi-Q sound for a given track/slot/instrument it loads ST 2 DXi.

If you then CHANGE the synth to say another VSTi or DXi (e.g., ST 2 VSTi, or ST3, or Kontakt, or TTS-1 DXi, or EVEN BACK to ST 2 DXi) NO SOUND WILL BE HEARD - because the Hi-Q sounds are ST 2 sounds.

Which also means that can't be played within ST3 unless IMPORTED first (but read on).

When you call up a Hi-Q sound (manually via "Select Hi-Q Synth Patch") or they get loaded with a Super MT (MIDI track) song, etc. the sequence is:

1) the ST 2 DXi is LOADED into the instrument slot then,

2) that particular ST 2 Hi-Q sound is loaded INTO that instantiation of that ST 2 DXi.

So loading any other VSTi/DXi into that instrument/tract/slot wipes out the ST 2 SAMPLE instrument.

Also note no matter which (VSTi/DXi) or what version of ST 2 or ST 3, or other synth, is installed: HI-q Sounds automagically call up ST 2 DXi!

If you really want to use ST 3 and those identical sounds - import them into ST3, then MANUALLY load them up in ST 3 from within BIAB like any other patch on any other VSTi/DXi.

Good Luck

Larry
