I have the full version of SampleTank as well as the one that comes with BIAB and for some reason when I try to use the HiQ sounds it looks like it loads but no sound comes out? Any ideas?

You do know ST3 is 64bit only and requires J-bridge to run in BIAB? Just checking since your details were sparse.

Sorry I am running 32 bit. I upgraded to the Mega Pak and I am running BIAB from a external drive. The SampleTank is on my D drive. I initially got an error when I tried to access the HiQ sounds like BIAB didn't know where SampleTank was. I edited Sampletank in the MIDI section so it would know where to find it. Now when I go to change a sound to HiQ it looks like BIAB sees it (no error message) but when I load it I get no sound.

Note which channel the instrument is using in ST. It will be flashing. You have to then select the instrument you want to use from the right panel and add it to the correct channel in the left pane.
That's what I have to do to make it work.
BIAB/RB does not retain your selection so this process has to be repeated each time you load the song.
Solutions have been discussed in other threads here on the forum but I have not had success on my system. The solution has corrected this issue with other users so it is worth checking out.
BIAB 2026:RB 2026, Latest builds: Dell Optiplex 7040 Desktop; Windows-10-64 bit, Intel Core i7-6700 3.4GHz CPU and 16 GB Ram Memory.

ok I get it. If I am replacing the bass I need to check to see which midi channel its on then add the bass sound to that channel on ST. Although I don't notice any flashing channels in ST. I will give it a try and see if I can make it work. Thanks.

With the song playing, solo the track you are working with and the 'number' of the port that is assigned will be flashing in the left panel of the ST window. There is also a chart in the BIAB documentation that provides the midi port assignments in BIAB. For instance, 5 is normally the Thru-channel. The port may also be listed if you open the Right/Click menu of the BIAB track.

Within BIAB if you select a Hi-Q sound for a given track/slot/instrument it loads ST 2 DXi.
If you then CHANGE the synth to say another VSTi or DXi (e.g., ST 2 VSTi, or ST3, or Kontakt, or TTS-1 DXi, or EVEN BACK to ST 2 DXi) NO SOUND WILL BE HEARD - because the Hi-Q sounds are ST 2 sounds.
Which also means that can't be played within ST3 unless IMPORTED first (but read on).
When you call up a Hi-Q sound (manually via "Select Hi-Q Synth Patch") or they get loaded with a Super MT (MIDI track) song, etc. the sequence is:
1) the ST 2 DXi is LOADED into the instrument slot then,
2) that particular ST 2 Hi-Q sound is loaded INTO that instantiation of that ST 2 DXi.
So loading any other VSTi/DXi into that instrument/tract/slot wipes out the ST 2 SAMPLE instrument.
Also note no matter which (VSTi/DXi) or what version of ST 2 or ST 3, or other synth, is installed: HI-q Sounds automagically call up ST 2 DXi!
If you really want to use ST 3 and those identical sounds - import them into ST3, then MANUALLY load them up in ST 3 from within BIAB like any other patch on any other VSTi/DXi.
Good Luck
Larry

I have Workstation which hsd SampleTank 2.5 and when I loaded BIAB it put in another version of SampleTank 2.5. Initially when I tried to load the HiQ sounds BIAB couldn't find it because ST wasn't where it expected it to be and I got an error message. I then repointed BIAB to the correct location. Then when I tried loading the HiQ sounds it acted like it loaded them but I got no sound. I just tried loading a 12 string sound on the first guitar and when I checked in BIAB this should be on channel 6. So I manually loaded the 12 string sound on channel 12 and I get no sound. This was working before I upgraded to the MegaPak so I am pretty sure it some sort of configuration error,

The other weird thing is when I hit the load the HiQ sound it I here the sounds in the demo but as soon as I click okay for the sound I get nothing. I tried moving folders around in SampleTank and even as an admin it won't let me do it....really aggravating. I may have to uninstall SampleTank then try to reinstall.....GRRRRRRRR

Ok so now I feel really stupid....the style I picked was not from the real styles but it used a real style guitar (thought it sounded pretty good for midi)and that was the track I was trying to use ST sound......so that is why under preview I could hear the sound but nothing when I loaded it.......needs to be a midi file. I wish I could say this is the last boneheaded mistake I will make but I doubt it....hope it helps someone else.

202 New RealTracks Released with Band-in-a-Box 2026!
With Band-in-a-Box® 2026, we've released 202 incredible new RealTracks (in sets 468-488) in a variety of genres—featuring your most requested styles!
Jazz, Funk & World (Sets 468-475):
Our new jazz, funk & blues RealTracks include a groovin’ collection of RealTracks and RealDrums! These include more requested “soul jazz” RealTracks featuring artists Neil Swainson (bass), Charles Treadway (organ), Brent Mason (guitar), and Wes Little (drums). There are new “smooth jazz” styles (4), which include a RealTracks first: muted trumpet, as well as slick new smooth jazz brushes options for drums. Blues lovers will be thrilled—there are more “classic acoustic blues” styles, including guitar (5), bass (4), and drums (10) with blues master Colin Linden, featuring understated and tasty background acoustic soloing, plus brushes drums and acoustic bass. There are also new electric blues RealTracks, including electric blues with PG favorite Johnny Hiland (3) and soulful electric slide guitar from Colin Linden (4). If you love funk & gospel, there are great new options this year, including gospel organ (3) from Charles Treadway, as well as new funk, tango, and rock ’n’ roll drums (3) and bass (1). And for big, bold arrangements, we have uptempo soul horns (4) featuring a three-part hip horn section with options for a full mix or stems of each individual horn — plus an accompanying rhythm section (4) of drums, bass, guitar, and electric piano!
Rock & Pop (Sets 476–482):
Our new rock & pop RealTracks bring a powerful mix of requested favorites, fresh genres, and modern chart-inspired styles! We have more of our popular “Producer Layered Acoustic Guitars (15)” featuring Band-in-a-Box favorite Brent Mason. We’ve continued our much-requested disco styles (10), and added new Celtic guitar (5) with a more basic, accessible approach than our previous Drop-D or DADGAD offerings. There are also highly requested yacht rock styles (17), inspired by the smooth, polished soft-rock sound of the late ’70s and early ’80s — laid-back grooves, silky electric pianos, warm textures, elegant harmonic movement, and pristine production aesthetics. Fans of heavier styles will love our new glam metal (13), capturing the flashy, high-energy sound of ’80s arena-ready guitar rock. We also have a set of rootsy modern-folk rock (18), with a warm, organic sound combining contemporary folk textures and driving acoustic strumming. And we’ve added lots of new modern pop styles (16) — the kinds of sounds you’re hearing on the radio today, featuring exciting new drums, synths, and cutting-edge RealTracks arrangements.
Country, & Americana (Sets 483–488):
Our new country & Americana RealTracks deliver a rich collection of acoustic, electric, and roots-inspired styles! We have new country pop (9) with legendary guitarist Brent Mason. There is also a potpourri (14) of bouzouki, guitars, banjo, and more, perfect for adding texture and character to contemporary acoustic arrangements. We’ve added funky country guitar (5) with PG favorite Brent Mason, along with classic pedal steel styles (5) featuring steel great Doug Jernigan. There are more country songwriter styles (8) that provide intimate, rootsy foundations for storytelling and modern Americana writing. Finally, we have “background soloing” acoustic guitar (12) with Brent Mason — simpler, but still very tasty acoustic lines designed to sit beautifully behind vocals or act as a subtle standalone solo part.
Check out all the 202 new RealTracks (in sets 468-488)!
And, if you are looking for more, the 2026 49-PAK (for $49) includes an impressive collection of 20 bonus RealTracks, featuring exciting and inspiring additions to add to your RealTracks library. You'll get new country-rhythm guitar styles from PG Music favorites Johnny Hiland and Brent Mason, along with modern-pop grooves that capture today’s radio-ready sound! There are also new indie-folk styles with guitar, bass, 6-string bass used as a high-chording instrument, acoustic guitar, and banjo. Plus, dedicated "cymbal fills" RealDrums provide an added layer that work very well with low-key folky styles with other percussion.
The 2026 49-PAK is loaded with other great new add-ons as well. Learn more about the 2026 49-PAK!
