There are times when playing live, that it would be great to just be able to easily choose, display and transpose BIAB tunes (like a digital fakebook) on a tablet without all the additional menu clutter. The code already exists, so I guess it would depend on the level of effort to separate into a single executable.
This could potentially be a viable low-cost commercial product. Certainly tablets are growing market share (Windows,iPad and Android.) With the thousands of BIAB format tunes out there, I suspect this could be monetized.
I doesn't necessarily even have to PLAY the tunes (but that would open up a busker market.)

If you only use midi, it's doable. BIAB without Real Tracks is about 23-24 GB. A tablet with 64 GB should be good. Hope my math is correct.
Asus Q500A i7 Win 10 64 bit 8GB ram 750 HD 15.5" touch screen, BIAB 2017, Casio PX 5s, Xw P1, Center Point Stereo SS V3 and EWI 4000s.

If you want to transpose BiaB tunes that are using RealTracks and RealDrums, then you'll need all of those resources. If you only want to transcribe a music chart, then presumably the data is MIDI and you don't need the real tracks and real drums. However, any 'reasonable' laptop or tablet can run the full product anyway. Why need a cut down version? Check out System Requirements Also, don't get RAM (memory) confused with available disk space (hard drive storage) HTH Trevor

I think my post has been misconstrued. I have been a BIAB user for decades (and worked as a systems engineer for Compaq/HP/Cisco etc.) even longer.
I do have a number of Android tablets as well as a Surface Pro 3 (on which I currently run BIAB.)
What I meant was a stripped down INTERFACE to DISPLAY BIAB tunes ( I currently tend to just use .PDF versions of Fakebooks.) I bought legitimate Kindle versions of these, and converted them because PDF readers are more agile than the Kindle App for selecting and displaying digital versions of sheet music.
The downside, obviously, is that PDFs cannot be transposed (I play Bb and Eb saxes as well as some flute.) Though I can sight-transpose Concert, I prefer to read in the key of the instrument I'm playing.
Because I have (or can create) BIAB files of nearly tune in my fakebooks, I would really like to have one version of EACH tune that I can easily transpose at will.
Also, as I play WX-7 and WX-11 woodwind controllers, I would LOVE to have an easy means of changing patches (especially upper banks) for live performance.
I can DO all this with BIAB currently, but even though I have a touch screen, it's usually necessary to root around for a stylus because of the small icons on the interface. It is really not an issue of the machine resources, but the desire for a simpler interface to use in live situations (which is currently not feasible given the enornous number of features available on the full version.)
I hope this clarifies. Thanks for the comments.

OK, understood better now. You're looking for a feature-specific version designed for fast and easy access to a particular set of functions.

Yeah .. That's essentially it. Alternatively, it might be nice if the BIAB interface itself were more tablet/touch friendly. I'm no looking to boil the ocean. I realize there have been multiple (heated) threads here about copyright, but there IS an enormous collection of tunes out there in a BIAB format, and a stripped down "player/display" would probably have a market.
I'm just not sure that would not be tacitly accepting that there would be abuse. I know have have paid several times over for all the tunes I ever play just to have them in multiple keys, etc. It's just that if you've ever tried selecting a tune out of several thousand in a live situation (on a tablet with your fingers and a virtual keyboard) I suspect there has to be a better way.
