I have about 20 measures of notes I have entered into the Guitar part that I would like to move to the Bass part, replacing what is there. I can't seem to find a way to copy notes from selected measures between parts. "Copy From.. To.." doesn't seem to work for parts other than Melody and Soloist. And "Copy/Move Tracks" just works with the whole song, I believe. Any way to do this?

First of all, if you have entered notes into the guitar track, make sure you have frozen your arrangement, otherwise, it's going to get regenerated and you'll lose your edits.

Assuming you have frozen your guitar and bass tracks (so they don't get regenerated - which means you need to make sure your chord arrangement is exactly how you want it), then you can use the piano roll screen to highlight the notes you want to copy from the guitar track, the click on the bass track, highlight the same are, and right click and select "Paste - Replace". You may have to do this a bar or two at a time.

It's not really how BIAB works - the guitar, bass, piano, strings, and drum tracks are designed to be regenerated each time you play the song, so that you get a slightly different arrangement each time.

You would probably be better off doing this in RealBand, where you have more control over each track.

Bill:

If you're not using the Melody Track or the Soloist Track, you can just copy the notes you entered onto the Guitar Track (using jford's method), to either of those tracks - just "pretend" it's a "new" bass track and set a bass intrument for it.

Then go to the first of those 20 measures, and using F5, mute the bass part (unless you want YOUR bass part to play along with the BIAB part), and then at the end of the 20 measures, "reinstate" the BIAB bass part, again using F5.

Good luck!

Thanks for the advice, John! That did what I needed. A little tedious; but that's what I get for trying to force BIAB to do something out of it's "comfort zone". I usually let it do it's thing, but I wanted a customized bass part for a song intro. (The "tick-tock" sound in the verse of "Night And Day", if you're curious.) And for some reason, I started out with notes in the guitar part, and decided they needed to be in bass instead. If I end up needing to do more of this kind of thing, I will look into using RealBand.

Thanks again!
