Hi my name is Sonny Raley and although I am not new to BIAB I am new to the forum. I bought my first BIAB software in 2011 and it took me nearly a year to learn the software (still only about half) to get a decent sounding song that I was comfortable with in order to branch out into different genres which is what I wanted to accomplish. I have created over 100 songs to this date and I am putting one of these songs out for you to listen to and give me feedback as you do for others. This song is called She Smiled and all the vocals were done by Daniel Hensley a friend of mine. I did the vocal stylings and arrangements while Daniel created all the harmonies. I am not a musician (played guitar and bass years ago) so I will always use RealTracks

She Smiled

Hi Sonny,

welcome to the forum!
What a great first post.
Starting with a nice chord progression to the
good vocals, beautiful harmonies and sweet
oohs and aahs.
I'm quite excited.

Nice sound and performance. Excellent use of real tracks (are the drums too loud here and there?). You also got this track pretty loud and it is still clear. What kinds of things do you put on the master buss.

Thanks Kevin for your input. I did the drums slightly louder to give it a lite rock feel. I use an eq plugin as well as two Waves plugins for loudness.

Sonny,

Welcome to the Showcase!

A terrific first post. And a very nice change of pace. Not many songs of this type are posted. A real Bacharach/David feel (and sound) to it..

Nice arrangement and instrumentation. Terrific vocals and fantastic background vocals!

There were a few times that I thought the vocal needed to be a little "warmer" for the style of song (meaning the processing - a hair too crisp).

Looking forward to more...

floyd

Sonny, The arrangement on this is fantastic! Daniel nailed the vocal. Nice Brill Building styled write. I enjoyed it. Tom

I 'hate' to break it to you, but you're quite wrong in your assessment of not being a musician!

Oh, and welcome to the 'club', hope you enjoy your stay smile

Welcome to the forum. Terrific first post and sounds as if you are really catching on to BIAB.

The backing vocals were excellent and quite an enjoyable listen.
