I'm recording vocals with a UR22, input one. Unfortunately, it records in mono on the left. Is there any way to record this directly into a stereo track, or a way to turn it into stereo after recording it as mono? It sounds weird with my vocals only coming out of the left speaker.

I also record with one input in mono (tascam us-224) and it records as a mono signal straight down the middle.

You have a stereo signal going in, but only one mic so it is 100% left. Somewhere there is a setting to arm the track as mono.

In any case, you should be able to convert your "stereo" track to mono and it should be OK.

Ha! Figured it out.

Setting the input as "Mono" helps BIAB figure to make it "stereo." I was setting it as a "stereo" input, which it obviously is not, so...

Kemmrich, yep! You are right. I figured it out shortly after posting here (see my response). Thank you! You got it exactly right. :-)

It doesn't make a mono signal into stereo. It simply puts it down the center in the track.

Mono can be panned to the left or right in a track.... since you're generally working with a STEREO output buss.

True stereo would in fact have 2 different wave files in the track

A picture is worth one thousand words so.....

notice the dual wave forms in tracks 5 thru 8 while the others are single waves in a track ...best seen in tracks 13 thru 15.

The dual waves are true stereo tracks with unique audio information in each channel, whereas the mono tracks, aside from the BB/RB generated ones, are all recorded by the left input channel of my interface. However, they are mono and therefore are straight up the center and totally pannable in my stereo output buss.

Hope that clarifies it a bit.
