I create some chord files and when it tries to generate the accompanyment, it freezes, and gives me this error message. If I delete some chords at the end it works again. I can add in the missing chords and it works (sometimes).

Welcome to the forum, Geoffrey.

This is a forum for users, and PG Music may or may not see your post. I highly recommend you call PG Music Support. They are outstanding.

They will need to know the version of Windows you use, as well as what version of BIAB. Are all your device drivers up to date?

Although I haven't heard this particular problem before, where it sometimes works and where you can sometimes recover, it strikes me that it wouldn't hurt to check your RAM. Download and run Memtest. Also rule out any virus/malware by running Malwarebytes. It is always good to rule out other possible causes.

Adding to Matt's recommendations have you tried the return to factory settings? It is in the options (opt) menu.

Sounds like he's using some "killer" chords. smile

I would definitely try "return to factory settings, as well as probably rebooting the computer. I might would also try to set the program to "run as administrator".

What were you using as your sound source? Were you set to MME or ASIO? You might want to check that you are up to date with your audio card drivers.

Were you using VST's or VSTi's; might be a badly behaving effect or instrument?

Absolutely, they are right: if BIAB doesn't do what it's supposed to, try Opt., Return to Factory Settings and then reboot.

Does this happen on just one song?

You are a new poster, so I wonder if you are a new user as well. Has the program ever worked correctly for you?

I am a new user. The program mostly works fine. The sound is MOTU ASIO. Once a file "goes bad," it always bombs when I try to generate & play. However, when I delete a few chords, it seems to work. Lots of jazz extensions, maybe they are "killer chords." (Maybe it doesn't like the b13?).
Seriously, it is odd behavior. I will try to return to factory settings, as suggested.

Thanks for reporting back.

BIAB definitely LOVES B13. I use it all the time.

If Return to Factory Settings doesn't fix it, it might just be that your one song is corrupt. This doesn't happen often but is a possibility. Can you post the song for us to download? You have to have a place on the Internet to put it, like a free Dropbox account, and then post the link to it here.
