In my settings, where you have chosen "the Roland VSC Dxi GM2 mode for the Sythensizer/Sound Card", I have Soundblaster Audigy selected because that is my soundcard.
To activate the DXi instruments, I put check marks in the boxes Use VST/Dxi Synth and Route Midi Thru to Midi Drive. Both these check boxes are under Opt > Audio Driver Setup and are about halfway down the dialogue box on the right-hand side.
I'd try selecting your actual soundcard and putting check marks in the above boxes.
