I'm currently producing some songs with Realband but I have to work on computers located in different places.
These computers have exactly the same \plugins directory for VST effects and VST instruments (same structure, same dll contents, etc.). My realband SEQ file resides on a USB drive I'm carrying with me.
I thought that the SEQ files containing my audio and MIDI tracks would also 'remember' which effects and instruments are to be loaded to render my songs properly.
Unfortunately, these parameters seem to be saved outside the SAQ files but in Realband config files as I see some files in Realband directory changing date and being updated when I tweak some VST instruments parameters.
I'd be happy to understand what are Realband important configuration files (especially concerning VSTi list and effects list) so that I can copy these files on my other computers when I have to work outside my current location.
Any advice would be very appreciated! M_M

You need to make sure your RealBand VSTi/DXi (and VST/DX effects) lists match (using the load DXi/VSTi command). Once you do that once, RealBand will remember it the next time you use it.
RealBand doesn't know about any VSTi DLL's you have unless it's already in its list. So make sure you lists match before moving files between computers.
If the corresponding instrument/effect is already in the list, RealBand should find and use it.

I'd be happy to understand what are Realband important configuration files (especially concerning VSTi list and effects list) I'll try to answer your question assuming you understand how these files can affect performance. I don't recommend tinkering with these unless you know what you are doing, but these files contain data you can look at. Realband.ini RB.Cfg These contain the 'guts' of RB settings. Other editable files that may help: VSTiPluginList.ini VSTPluginList.ini Less relevant: RBToolB07.ini You may want to try using .TGS files, which are in the Realband\DXSettings folder instead. These files can store setups for track FX and seem to transfer pretty reliably for me.. if the FX exist as you stated they do. Use Save Group in the FX window to create these tgs files, then Load Group on the next system. Unique to RB/PT, but a handy tool once you learn it.

@jford rharv and solidrock Thank you all very much for your insight and for these valuable explanations. To automate the process of updating my different computers with the relevant configuration files mentionnend by rharv, I've created a small command file that automatically transfers all *.tgs files + a bunch of others including realband.ini and RB.cfg to my target computers. Anyway... that was before I read the brilliant suggestion made by solidrock to just copy the complete Realband folder to the other PCs I didn't realize that folder was actually not so big (4 to 500 Mo) compared to the huge Bb folder! Best, M_M
