I am not "bringing in" a midi track as such, it is held chords from another style, to which I applied a SampleTank voice (strings). So maybe that's why I can't see the expression knob you talk about.

I did use the option to convert the track to a wave file and played that file back in Windows media player and it plays fine. I suppose I could import that wave file into RB, if that's possible, but it seems a very long winded way of doing things.
