Is it possible to stop RDs from putting in a cymbal crash every time I use a hold - e.g. E..? and every time it comes out of the Hold bar to continue.
Can I do it at will, or will it, if it CAN be done, be random?
Working on Elvis's "Now OR Never" which has a few of these Holds in it.

I believe the short answer is No.
You can alter RealDrum .txt files to edit out certain patterns, but then you would not have that sound available when you might want it.
It almost certainly is not an easy, user-accessible switch.

Can you do an F5 mute Drums then back to normal ?

Yes that would mute all drums for the entire bar, although in my experience sometimes the first part of the first beat may be heard as the mute kicks in.
Also, maybe another style doesn't have the crash.
Is the Shot on a Part Marker? That might be forcing the cymbal crash.

Under RealDrums Preferences/Settings, you use "Adjust Push Velocity", and "Adjust Shot Velocity"

In BIAB 2015 you can set a part marker to not play a fill. Try that; it might help in some styles.
