I'm trying to make my Arturia Spark VDM drum machine start and stop with BIAB (mac 2015), but cannot make it work. Appearently I cant run the VDM as a Plug-in in BIAB but only as a stand-alone...can that be true?
Thanks for helping, but what you recommend doesn't solve the problem. Appearently, I can not use the plug-in version of my Spark VDM in band in BIAB. According to Arturias manual this is the way to sync the VDM to any sequencer...why? I dont know.
7.1 STANDALONE MODE Spark can be used as an independent application on your computer even if you don’t own any sequencer software. This is known as “Standalone mode”. When Spark is operating in Standalone mode you have access to additional parameters for setting up your audio and MIDI connections. To access these: 7.1.1 Launch the application To launch the Spark application: Windows: Start menu > Programs > Arturia > Spark… and choose Spark. OS X: Finder > Applications > Arturia > Spark… and double-click on the Spark application icon.
MIDI Clock inputs Displays the available MIDI Inputs for receiving Midi Clock to control Spark Sequencer. When a port is used as a Midi clock receiver, it can’t be used as Midi Inputs for controlling Spark. CLOCK FOLLOWS STOP/CONTINUE Sequencer will start and stop playing according to the Start and stop Command received with the Midi clock signal when the preference is on.
Before I updraded to BIAB 2015 I could start my Arturia spark VDM drummachine by setting all the midi ports in Core Midi driver s to '1'. Now I can only set them to "Bus 1", "Apple DLS synth" og "BIAB virtual Output" and I cant sync the drum machine anymore.....sad.
Just and update to let you know have the problem was solved.
By coincidence I placed my drum machine app in the BIAB folder under in the application folder. The drum machine now starts and stops in sync with BIAB no matter how I set the none/slave/master button under the drum machine preferences.....?????
The tempo doesn't follow though but that a minor issue.
