Don,

Welcome to the forum. It reads as though you want to hear the Band-in-a-Box (BiaB) output as well as your vocal. That is difficult for the computer to do without a big difference in time (latency) between when the instrument sounds are heard and your vocal is digitized, recorded, playedback and converted to analog sound.

Because of latency, your audio interface (in this cade that is the Vocalizer) typically mixes your incoming vocal audio together with the outgoing BiaB instrument audio and sends the mixed signal to a headphone jack. Many times that feature is advertised as real time monitoring.

Are you related to the Don Helms that played steel?
