Just and update to let you know have the problem was solved.

By coincidence I placed my drum machine app in the BIAB folder under in the application folder. The drum machine now starts and stops in sync with BIAB no matter how I set the none/slave/master button under the drum machine preferences.....?????

The tempo doesn't follow though but that a minor issue.
