I går ringede en BIAB bruger til mig med et problem angående import af MIDI filer. Han havde tidligere brugt Windows versionen, men var gået over til Mac. Som de fleste nok ved, er der stadig forskel på udbuddet af funktioner i Windows- og Mac udgaven. Windows har lidt flere funktioner, - nogle lidt pjattede, mens andre kan være lidt svære at undvære.
Man kan bruge MIDI filer på forskellige måder i Band-in-a-Box. 1) Importer akkorder fra MIDI fil. Denne funktion findes både til Windows og til Mac. I Windows åbnes funktionen med Fil-Importer akkorder fra MIDI fil På Mac: File-Import-Import Chords from MIDI file. Disse kommandoer åbner nedenstående dialog. (se billede) Udfyld de forskellige felter (om nødvendigt) og se akkorderne i akkordskemaet.
2) Åbn MIDI fil I Windows Fil-Åbn MIdi fil. Vælg Midi. Nu åbner MIDI filen i Akkordarket. Akkorderne er vist. Stilarter er deaktiverede. Selve MIDIfilen er placeret i Melodi kanalen med alle spor. Man kan nu åbne sequenseren (det grønne ikon) som viser de brugte instrumenter. Man kan vælge at mute dem alle og aktivere stilarter eller man kan f.eks bruge nogle af instrumenterne (f.eks melodien) , - stadig med stilarten aktiveret.
Mac versionen har desværre ikke sequenser funktionen, men man kan vælge File-Import-Import Melody from MIDI file. Man får nu en dialog, hvor man kan vælge, hvilke instrumenter, man vil importere. Akkorderne bliver ikke oversat og man skal selv mute de andre instrumenter. Hvis man vælger flere instrumenter spiller de med samme lyd.
Jeg synes at Windows versionens Åbn MIDI funktion er meget brugbar og detr ville være en klar fordel at implementere den i næste års MAC version.
