I've been using BIAB for my band for around 16 years. I always finish them with PT or Cakewalk Audio9 or both. So I end up with a suitable midi file arrangement. When I first started playing out I used I used 3.5" disks with a midi player (yamaha I think). I have always used a hardware sound module. Started out with a Yamaha? and then moved to a Roland sc-880, used that for 12 years then switched to a Roland Fantom XR a couple years ago. I use a laptop now at gigs. Cakewalk had in its sequencing program another program called virtual jukebox. It is (as far as I know) unbeatable for making songlists for live shows. It handles midi files and wav files and .bun files, which are cakewalk midi file with wav in the song.Does not work for that kind of file from Sonar. Also has pop up note pad (Info window in cakewalk) for words and cues . Cakewalk has not upgraded Virtual Juke box for many years and from what I have heard abandoned the program.
What do you other players use for songlists at gigs ? Does anyone use VJB ?
