For a quarter of a century, BIAB has helped musicians enjoy an easy way to make music I remember when I bought the first version in 1990... Seems so far away for the younger BIAB user but at the time, programs such as this were not that numerous. In France a somewhat equivalent program was introduced and I recall telephone conversations with Peter Gannon trying to see if these programs could merge. That would be interesting to know how many people were in the first group of users... Anyway, long live BIAB
I saw the advertisement in the back of Downbeat magazine, and called the number every DAY to listen to the demo of Giants Steps (just the rhythm section.) I pre-ordered, and have been a devotee ever since the 1.0 DOS version arrived.
Saw it in Sam Ash in New York. I had been using the Yamaha QY-10 little sequencer - great unit, size of a VCR tape - and the salesperson said I could get far more power from software. He was right.
Some of our forum members may not realize that the date registered on this forum goes back only to the year 2000, and that there was another version of forum software before that. Thus, a few of us go way back.

However, fairly certain BIAB is a little older by at least a year. I think PG's first version was for the Amiga/Commodore or Atari at least one year earlier? (But if I'm wrong it's not even the first time today )
Like Matt said, more than few of us go back to the first PG BIAB forum. Forget why we all had to re-sign up to "new" forum in 2000. I 'm sure it was either a re-host due to a HW/SW tech issue, things weren't as sophisticated yet to simply carry us over into new forum, or it had been hack-attacked and PG started over.

If my memory ain't failing me I bought BiaB when I was still using my Atari. I didn't really care for it back then! But I bought it again in 2003 and this time I was flabbergasted on how much it had matured. Wait a minute maybe it was me that matured..........no I don't think it was me

I'm pretty sure the Amiga release was concurrent with the DOS version. Otherwise, I would have bought an Amiga. They were actually WAY ahead of their time...
I first bought BIAB when I saw an ad in the back of Keyboard magazine, it was 1989, I got it for my Atari. I've stayed with it and for the most part, I've been using it almost everyday for making tunes, and exercises for my students.......Great Company, wonderful community, awesome support, its truly become a big part of my musical life. No idea. That was so long ago!!! I had an Amiga so did I get it for the Amiga? Can't remember. I still have disks to PowerTracks Pro 3.0 for IBM though.
