I'm using Sound Blaster Audigy 4 sound card on my pc...is this a decent card or would the Roland Sound Canvas provide a better sound? I have not bought BIAB yet. Thanks.

The Roland Sound Canvas is going to sound the same on just about any sound card, from the on-board sound chip to a high quality external device. The Sound Canvas, and I'm assuming you're not talking about an Original Roland Sound Canvas module, is a piece of software that uses whatever sound card is in the computer for a front end.
So, the Audigy 4 and the Sound Canvas VST/DXi will sound the good.
Change out the Sound Canvas to something like the Coyote Forte, and you may get a better sound, but it will still be a software synthesizer.
My best advice for those looking for the best possible sounds is always to go with hardware, and most usually, the more expensive it, the better the sound. For use with Band In A Box, I'm thinking that the Ketron SD2 is the BEST, dollar for dollar, bang for the buck sound synthesizer that you can get for less than $500. Yes, it's only a module, and not a full keyboard, but the sounds are incredible.
If you want to do audio recording in Real Band or something like that, I would recommend moving away from the Creative Labs line, and going with something a bit more Prosumer, something like the M-Audio 2496 Audiophile.
