My real gripe is that if Microsoft knew immediately after Win 10 was installed that the app wasn't compatible, why didn't they know this before? Could've saved a lot of effort.

I doubt that I will get it to run with 10. I've been in touch with developers, forums and more. Every answer indicated that they all had an incompatibility issues and was so far unsolvable.

Sure, I can use a later development environment (I have the licenses) but there are some legacy objects in the earlier code that aren't compatible with the later development environment. Can't win either way.

Trev, I'm sure you probably have tried this already but have you tried to run the program under one of the compatibility modes?

Have your tried a custom install under one of the compatibility modes?

For example a lot of people were complaining that MS Office 97 was not working in Win 7. I got it to work by a custom install under the XP compatibility mode. The problem wasn't Office it was Outlook. If you tried a normal install it would fail but in custom install one could uncheck Outlook and everything else installed with no problem. YMMV

PS - I do not open Emailed MS docs, Excel sheets or Access files in Office 97.
