That looks scary ... I'm on my last file to download. I'll report back if my install has any issues (or not).

Do you use a download manager?

Thanks. I downloaded without using a manager. But because I know there can be problems with huge files, I tried to download the file again after the error message. Second time using chrome download manager. But without succes.

Ok - installation done. Purchased the EverythingPAK and the 49er. Downloaded with Firefox DownThemAll download manager. I do NOT have any issues on my machine (specs in my sig).

I am sure, PG will get those fellow users with the above issues going in no time!

First - CONTACT PG SUPPORT !!!

Having said that, like MikeK I downloaded the everything Pak + 49 Pak using Firefox and Download Them all - installed and no issues.

HOWEVER, the error listed by OP above DOES NOT look like a incomplete or corrupted download issue, if that were the case I would expect the INSTALL not to have worked at all, the install would give errors and complain.

Looks like MAYBE privileges and/or MIDI, DXI, and audio app issues left "hanging" from PREVIOUS installed version or run (e.g., left in some pending condition)

Try a computer cold re-boot and reinstall then rerun and try

Same error here. Tried on Win 7 64bit and Win10 64bit. No change after a cool restart. Mini-Dump looks like the start of this topic. I have sent it to PG support. I will wait for a day (or two) before I swap back to 2015.

When does this error message happen? Antonio says "to me it does open the program" - so when does it happen?

this happens after starting the programm. I see start-up icon and then the error message. After pressing "ok" on the dump message the programm ends.

Likely some missing files. Please contact support, there is live chat and they should be able to help. Getting the error log and error adrress would be helpful.

This issue affects only non-English versions of Band-in-a-Box. We'll make a patch fix for tomorrow., but in meantime the workaround is to run it in English, as follows:

1. With Band-in-a-Box not running, edit the text file file c:\bb\language.ini so that it says
Language=English

2. Run Band-in-a-Box in English, problem should not happen. (We'll have a fix in a patch in a day or so)

I didn't help to delete the file, cause program creates the file again. But it helped the changed the contents of the file to "language=english"

Thanks Munken, I've changed the instructions to reflect that, (to force it to run in English)

Do other people also get error when running videotutorialpak.exe:


"Unable to execute the file

C:\bbvideos\video tutorial pak\data\tscc.exe

The requested operation requires elevation"

And is the solution just to run it manually as administrator?

I believe you should not have to Run BIAB As Administrator, although it works fine to do so.
