Hello,

I'm using BIAB 2012 and I've set up bars 1-12 to repeat 20 times. Before I did the build 350 update the chords in these bars change as expected during the first pass but during successive passes the chords never change even though the progress marker steps through the repeated bars as expected. I then installed the build 350 update and the chords still do not change. After this update, however, the progress marker disappears after the first pass and doesn't return until the 3rd pass. I do have the "Generate (insert) new bars" box unchecked. I don't use BIAB very often so it's doubtless just something I'm doing wrong.

Thanks,
Ray

Are the tracks frozen? If tracks are frozen and you then make changes, these changes may not be reflected unless they are unfrozen and then regenerated.
In your version, the asterisk at the top I think is the indicator that they are frozen.

No asterisks... This was merely a real simple test file I just created. I selected CONTRA44 style in the key of E, did 4 bars of E, 6 bars of B7, 2 more bars of E, then repeat. Just for laughs I created an entirely new file with the same configuration. With the new file the marker does repeat as expected but the cords still don't change. Since there are only 12 bars in the song but the default is 32 I then reduced it to 12 and put the repeat of 20 at the end of that. That worked, but I still don't understand why it doesn't change chords if I do it the original way.

Not sure, I haven't used 2012 for quite a few years, so unfortunately, I can't even test.

I'm not aware that there were any issues with repeats in that version though.

Ray,

Are you using the dotted bars repeat or simply looping through the 12 bars 20 times by setting the number of choruses?

Setting the number of choruses would be the best way to do it. Simply click on the 'choruses' button and then select '20'.

Regards,
Noel

Thanks for all the suggestions. I think this must have simply been a matter of several different settings errors. After I looked at the various suggestions, changed a few things, then rebooted the machine it all started working as it should.

Sunspots again... Who knows?

I note you are getting close to the 255 measure limit in BIAB, particularly if there is anything more to this song than the 12 measures and presumably a four-bar ending.
