There may be an issue with the 2016 version, indeed. I have an empty bass line here with the otherwise tried and true ZZJAZZ.STY. Notation does not show any notes in in the bass track and the StyleMaker reveals empty patterns of the bass track. The Style Maker is full of those numbers floating around there, yet 'Pattern/EDit Pattern (Notation)' or 'CTRL W' reveals empty patterns everywhere. That happens to be the case no matter what style I open. Reset to factory settings did not help either.
Plus I have a button with the note on it that used to open the pattern notation window missing here in the 2016 StyleMaker. BiaB 2015 has everything properly in place and bass lines are created as expected with ZZJAZZ.STY.
With respect to the missing drums issue it may be interesting if this is style specific or a general aspect and it might be a good idea to check via the StyleMaker whether drum patterns are present at all.
