Hi Jim:

No harm at all in asking.

Sonar is a much more full-featured workstation. Also, I have extensive processing and effects which can be used only in Sonar. And then there's the fact that I have thousands of hours under my belt with Sonar and know it fairly well, while with RealBand i am still a novice and find it frustrating to use.

My desired workflow is this:

I get an idea worked up in Sonar and then type the chords into RealBand. I then try out various styles and parts to see what clicks. Maybe I'll find something I can import into my Sonar project, or maybe I won't use the RealBand part directly but it will give me an idea for something else.

But in order to do this i need to be able to have the various RealBand parts playing along in sync with the Sonar parts so I can audition them, which means controlling the transports in tandem.

I'm actually quite surprised that this is not already a standard feature.
