Correct, the audio of the RealDrums should have been the least likely to cause your problem. The polyphony limitation has no effect on audio, only MIDI.

My older Roland and Edirol hardware synths had either 64 or 128 sound polyphony. I don't know about the SD-50. EDIT: it has 128, same as the Integra-7 I have. That's almost as good as it gets. Only the Roland Jupiter 50 had 256, to my knowledge.
