Yep, welcome to midi. That's been the problem with midi since the very beginning. The only way it sounds good is when someone recorded the part from a proper midi controller, in this case a midi guitar. If the person is good then it doesn't sound too bad. Recording midi is a separate skill set all to itself and the person has to really know how to play the midi instrument in order to emulate a real guitar or it still sounds like crap. The other way to do it is a plugin like Steinberg's Virtual Guitarist. It's $250 and has pretty good reviews. The problem other than the price, is it won't work with either Real Band or Power Tracks because of a well known VST implementation bug but it's great with other DAW's like Sonar, Reaper, etc.
