I miss John as well. His acerbic wit was a constant source of amusement. Even as he struggled with his health problems, he retained his offbeat sense of humor.
RIP John.
+1
I was just thinking about John yesterday, oddly enough. And also about a bunch of other forum members from the past who were once people we talked to every day, carried on running jokes with, then one day... they were gone.
This is the real reason for maintaining the dignity of our friends. They (and you ) have all made my life more enjoyable. My wish for all of you, not only at Christmas time, but for as long as we all remain on the planet, is to find and enjoy as much pleasantness in this life as you can. I don't want to be part of the struggle that anyone else has to cope with in order to drag his backside through the days.
We may not be able to fix everyone's problems, but we certainly don't have to BE one of them.
Having said that... in the spirit of the season, and in the spirit of our common humanity, I want to thank all of the people here on the forum for your wit, your insights, your shared talent... and for tolerating my frequent poor communication and deciding to get along with me anyway.
I appreciate your friendship, and I hope it continues for many more years.
