Hi all,
new user here. I just want to share with you a little experience I've just had.
I discovered BIAB a few months ago. Actually, at the very beginning I completely misunderstood it. In fact, I even purchased a realtrack set (in september) before buying BIAB ... I thought they were loops that could be used with any program. I was wrong of course. So, after a little research, I finally understood what BIAB really was and what RealTracks were. I read all the reviews etc, and decided to buy it. I waited for the new 2016 edition to come out, and I purchased the Audiophile edition. Expensive, but - I hope - well worthwhile. Now, I would like to buy the 49pak too. So I contacted customer service, explained my story, and asked them if I could get a credit for the 29$ I spent on the realtrack set I bought in september in order to buy the 49pak, because it is obviously a redundant purchase (all realtracks are included in the audiophile edition). It seemed reasonable to me, a little gesture of attention for a new customer who just bought the most expensive product PG Music sells, and wants to buy even more.
The response was: "no, because we can only offer refunds within 30 days" (and yes, technically I guess I was asking for a refund, but actually, I was just trying not to pay for something that I had already purchased, in order to buy even more ... )
Now, that was disappointing, honestly. It's not about those 29 dollars. I don't care, it's really small potatoes in relation to the several hundreds I just spent on the Audiophile edition. But it's the principle that bothers me quite a bit, because it seems to me a very, very "rigid", unfriendly approach to new customers. Not what I expect from a customer oriented company in 2015, at all. Of course I could be totally wrong, I don't know.

Anyway, I'm glad to be a new member in this interesting community. I'm sure I will enjoy BIAB, I played with it for a few hours and I am already amazed. But, I do have a bitter taste in my mouth ...

Welcome to the forum.

Yes I have to agree I am totally with you on this (others opinions my differ) since you initially didn't understand that you needed band in a box as well, in my opinion it was reasonable of you to ask for that $29 credit.

I hope that DR Gannon (the CEO of PG music and comes across as a very fair man) will read your post and will react accordingly, a little staff training in situations like this, in my opinion wouldn't go wrong.

Anyways you are are very welcome here and I hope you enjoy band in a box.

Thank you Jazzmandan

I think you're right. I do have a smile on my face ... BUT .... I just found out (read in another topic) that if I buy the 49pak I will get the compressed files, not the wav, even though I have the Audiophile. Damn ... talk about "strange" ways of dealing with customers ... WHY in the world is that ????

Anyway, you probably think I'm a ball breaker ... two post, two complaints already :-)
I promise, I promise, I won't complain this often, I swear ...
back to music now :-)

Thanks Musiclover

as I said, it's not for the 29 dollars, it's the principle.
Anyway, I'm enjoying BIAB so much now - it's even better than I thought - that everything else is secondary.
Congratulations to PG Music for the product, it's ... incredible.

If you order the Audiophile and the 49-PAK at the same time, you will receive the RealTracks from the 49-PAK as WAV files already installed on the HD.

Thanks,
Callie

I don't know about the $29 RT order, but if you are in your 30-day Window, I would think that they could substitute your original order with a new one that adds the 49-PAK (although you will probably have to ship back the original drive).

I'd give them a call; and reference Callie's post above.

Hello Mr Micio,

We'd like to credit you the $29 for your mistakenly purchased RealTracks Set. I just need to locate your order in our records. I'll send you a private message for the additional communication needed to resolve this.

Thanks,
Callie

When I started reading this thread I knew how it would end.
There was no doubt in my mind the OP was going to be treated fairly.

PGMusic is more than fair, more like generous most of the time.

I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

I just want to reiterate my public gratitude to Callie and the PG Music customer service. Their follow-up has been nothing but amazingly fast, kind and generous.
I actually feel sorry that I complained publicly, but maybe this thread will be useful to show newcomers how great PG's people are. As I said: PG = Perfect Gentlemen - and women :-)

Mr Micio,

There's nothing to feel sorry nor embarrassed about. If you stay around the forums for a little while, you'll come to appreciate just how marvellous PG Music is as a company. I've never dealt with any business that equals PG Music's sincerity and compassion. (I'm just a user like you and have no affiliation with the company.)

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this to you, but there is a comment page if you want to leave a comment. It's at...

Enjoy Band in a Box!

All the best,
Noel
