Thanks so much, John! We don't have any living relatives in the States (well, some distant ones on my wife's family side). My family in Germany is scraping by, my parents are not well... so the news that I finally have a job again made them really happy. (There's something to be said about being happy and how it affects health). I'm glad it worked out the way it did for you as well. One of the toughest thing in world is being "the bread winner" and not being able to do so. Congratulations to you as well, John!  I got my offer today (Saturday) and I accepted. Decent salary, 3 weeks vacation plus 5 personal days (really 4 weeks vacation) to start. Not too shabby! At any rate, we're happy.
