I also think their is no reason why we cant have real vocals. Vocals are a special case, but they couyuld be managed thus:
Template Vocals of a whole verse or chorus, with appropriate Real Tracks already selected could be loaded as by the user.
This would provide a cover version of a desired pop/jazz/rock/ standard
Where the lyrics are being sung this would 'freeze'certain parameters (for example the transposing of the vocals might be constricted to a range, maybe tempo too). These bars would handle in a block, and the blocks could be moved around, in two, four, eight, or sixteen bar sets. They would show up in a colour on the main screen.
The ability to control all would return in any other bars. For example twelve bars of solo, could be added, with any chords.
The ability to change the RTs would remain, but obviously should be used with wisdom
