What you are getting is based on the style you selected.

Those "extra" notes are notes that have defined as part of the style. I suspect they were probably originally quarter notes, but since you inserted the "1/8 note push", the quarter note on the beat is getting replaced by an 8th note on the beat, followed by the push (on the and of the beat), as it should be.

I suspect you'll need to find a style that plays the rhythm you are looking for all on the same chord, so when you later do the push, it still plays it that way.

It's work to do, but you could also always load the style into StyleMaker and look at the patterns to see if there is something there you like better, delete the patterns you don't want, then save as a new style (so you don't overwrite the original style).

Or find a MIDI file of the song with the rhythm you are looking for and use the MIDI Style Wizard to create the piano part.

Easiest would probably be to find a different style. But it does take time to find the right sound.
