Jeg finder ud af mere og mere om BIAB, og ud i fremtiden kunne jeg - i stedet for at indspille lyd fra midi (keyboard / harmonika) tænke mig - hvis muligt, at lave en live indspilning, - er det muligt, og bare i korte træk, at forklare hvordan, og hvilket udstyr skal der i givet fald til ?
Det synes jeg lyder som en rigtig god ide. Rigtig audioindspilning er i de fleste tilfælde bedre end MIDI. I Band-in-a-Box kan man indspille et enkelt audiospor. Man kan bagefter sætte effekter på som kompressor, rumklang EQ etc, meeen- Ban-in-a-Box er ikke en sequencer og er faktisk ikke særlig velegnet til at indspille audio med, da det er lidt besværligt at indspille et spor i flere etaper. Band-in-a-Box arbejder tæt sammen med alle sequensere og det er meget let at få sporene ført over i en sådan. Hvis man køber et audiomodul følger der i mange tilfælde en rigtig god sequenser med. Men først; sådan indspiller man audio i Band-in-a-Box: Tryk på ikonet "Record Audio". Nu åbnes dialogen "Record Audio". Tryk på "Test recording Level (VU meter) og prøv at spille/synge og indstil audiomodulet så det ikke overstyrer. Hvis der står "Track type is stereo" skal man trykke på knappen "Audio options" og vælge mono. Man kan derefter beslutte hvor indspilningen skal begynde og slutte. Man kan også dubbe allerede indspillet audio (anbefales ikke).
Tilbage til udstyret. Et normalt lydkort i en PC dur ikke til audioindspilning. Der vil ofte være en meget stor forsinkelse (latency) som gør det helt umuligt. Desuden er lydkvaliteten ikke specielt god. I dag kan man heldigvis købe audiomoduler i prof kvalitet for et rimeligt beløb (800 kr og opefter.) Disse vil som regel også være udstyret med MIDI ind og ud så man ikke behøver at have et særskilt MIDI interface. Der er et jeg specielt kan anbefale: Steinbergs UR 22 Mrk2. Jeg ved ikke om det er bedre,- rent lydmæssigt- end andre lydkort, men det har en række rigtig gode funktioner. Man kan fx anvende det sammen med en iPad. Jeg har lavet rigtig fine optagelser med Cubasis og et UR 44 (storesøsteren til UR 22). En anden fremragende funktion er det såkaldet "loop back". Det betyder at man kan sende sin lyd direkte fra computeren til andre, som vil høre lyden i høj kvalitet. Det er især vigtigt, hvis man fx modtager undervisning via SKYPE. Man indspiller uden forsinkelse og kan monitorere med de indbyggede effekter som rumklang compressor og EQ. Desuden medfølger en light udgave af Cubase, og det er her man kan indspille og mixe audio sammen med Band-in-a-Box sporene. Du vil også få brug for et par højtalere. Det bedste valg er aktive højtaler, - dvs. højtalere med indbygget forstærker. I første omgang kan man klare sig med et par gode høretelefoner.

Jeg anbefaler helt klart en kondensatormikrofon. De fås i mange prisklasser og behøver ikke at være specielt dyre. Jeg vil ikke anbefale bestemte mærker eller prisklasser. En god musikforretning skal nok finde det, som opfylder dit behov.
Lidt mere om kondensatormikrofoner: En kondensatormikrofon kræver en strømforsyning. De fleste audiomoduler kan levere strøm til en kondensatormikrofon. Fordelene ved kondensatormikrofoner er, at de ofte kan indstilles så de har forskellige karakteristikker. Dvs at de fx kan optage i et nyreformet felt, eller i felt som et ottetal eller lige meget hele vejen rundt. En anden fordel er, at de er mere følsomme end en almindelig mikrofon, dvs man kan stå lidt længere væk og synge eller spille. Desuden dækker de ofte et større toneområde. Bagdelen er, at de ikke er velegnet til live brug, da de dels lettere vil lave feedback, og de er noget mere sarte end sædvanlige mikrofoner.

With Band-in-a-Box® 2026, we've released 202 incredible new RealTracks (in sets 468-488) in a variety of genres—featuring your most requested styles!
Jazz, Funk & World (Sets 468-475):
Our new jazz, funk & blues RealTracks include a groovin’ collection of RealTracks and RealDrums! These include more requested “soul jazz” RealTracks featuring artists Neil Swainson (bass), Charles Treadway (organ), Brent Mason (guitar), and Wes Little (drums). There are new “smooth jazz” styles (4), which include a RealTracks first: muted trumpet, as well as slick new smooth jazz brushes options for drums. There is also a potpourri (14) of bouzouki, guitars, banjo, and more, perfect for adding texture and character to contemporary acoustic arrangements. We’ve added funky country guitar (5) with PG favorite Brent Mason, along with classic pedal steel styles (5) featuring steel great Doug Jernigan. There are more country songwriter styles (8) that provide intimate, rootsy foundations for storytelling and modern Americana writing.
