I just realize that any track in the Bb mixer can be defined as "HELD", which means that the realtrack assigned to it will play a single chord and hold it for the duration until the next chord. This track behavior is defined in the StyleMaker with the 'Held notes only' checkbox.
Unfortunately, it's not easy to return such a track to its normal state as the "HELD" checkbox is greyed out for this track in the Assign Realtrack Picker. It means that any Realtrack I intend to assign to such a track will not play normally, but will play as a 'held' chord, with at times some funny artifacts.
Maybe I've missed something but I was wondering if there was an easy way to change a track "HELD" status (defined in the style) without having to dive into style editing ?

I think you stumped the group here. What you are describing don't sound familiar at all. Do you want to try again. Or show a picture.

Hi Melody Maker,
I'll have a play around with the "Held" option in Realtrack picker and see if I can reproduce your problem.
My feeling is that because you are using Stylemaker to obtain "Held", you are essentially defining a new style in which "Held" is a requirement for that track location. This probably means that whatever RT you put at that location will be held (if holds are available). If, on the other hand, you load a track using the Realtrack picker and select "Held" in the picker, it will apply only to an individual track.

Hi Jazzmandan, Perhaps this “Held” feature permanently assigned to a track is a new undocumented feature? Please try this: if you have RT 249 installed, load the style called _Reflect.sty (Reflective Folk Rock) and then try to load any realtrack in the ‘Guitar 2’ track (usual ‘Strings’ slot) or the ‘Piano’ track. You will probably notice that these realtracks play funny as they are permanently forced into the “Held” mode and this behavior cannot be easily changed in the realtrack Picker as the “Held” checkbox is greyed out for these tracks. Looks like a bug to me… because the only way to change that is to edit the style and uncheck “Held notes only” for each relevant realtrack. Sounds like a lot of work for such a simple task  To Noel96, Yes Noel, thanks for your comment. That’s exactly the conclusion I’ve reached.
